Shipbreaking scrap prices in India were flat to down on Wednesday. The daily Davis Indexes for 12Ani and 14Ani dropped by Rs100/mt ($1.38/mt) each to Rs35,250/mt ($487.48/mt) and Rs35,350/mt ($488.86/mt) ex-Alang, respectively, amid slow demand from the rolling mills in Mandi Gobindgarh and Gujarat.
The daily Davis Index for 2kg plates settled flat at Rs32,400/mt ex-Alang amid sluggish demand for finished steel. A few deals were reported at the current price levels.
The daily Davis Index for HMS attachment and Melting remained unchanged at Rs30,850/mt and Rs29,850/mt ex-Alang, respectively, with limited deals.
