Import of metal ore in Xinjiang up by 45pc
In Jan-Feb period, import of metal ore in Xinjiang province of China increased by 45pc compared to the previous year, according to the government agency China Metallurgical News. China imports large amount of metal ore from Kazakhstan. Both the countries have agreed to increase import volume in 2020. Since mid-February, Kazakhstan’s railway department has started increasing the volume of iron ore shipments to China. Xinjiang is an autonomous region in northwest of China, near Kazakhstan. The main transport source between Xinjiang and Kazakhstan is railways.
