MetalX fire in Delta, Ohio contained

A large fire at MetalX’s Delta, Ohio scrap metal facility on Monday was caused by combustible material buried within sheet iron received by the scrap yard earlier in the day and placed near a shredder. The fire was the facility’s second since September—after which a containment plan was drawn up, and helped the crews in mitigating the latest fire incident. Clyde Billips, MetalX’s vice president of operations, said the facility doesn’t accept hazardous material, and while the smoke was visible from miles away, there are no concerns about impacting human or animal health.
