Iran’s steelmakers produced 2.32mn mt of steel ingots in the first month of the Iranian year which began on March 20, 2020, up by 2pc from the prior-year period, according to Iranian media.
The country’s total steel output in the period was 2.54mn mt. Slab ingots output was 1.03mn mt, up by 12pc from the prior-year period. Finished and semi-finished steel production rose by 22.21pc to 10.36mn mt.
Exports
Exports of semi- finished rose by 26pc to over 6.90mn mt, accounting for more than 66pc of the total volume. Of these, billet and bloom constituted a major portion amounting to 4.83mn mt, up by 24pc from last year. Slab exports were 2.07mn mt, up by 31pc. Finished exports rose by 16pc to 3.45mn mt from last year.
