Iran exported 8.8mn mt of steel products in 10 months till Jan 2020, up by 38.27pc from the prior 10 month period, Iranian media reported on Feb 25.
The Iranian fiscal year is calculated from current March 21 to March 20 of next year.
The country’s semi-finished steel product exports, including billet and blooms, amounted to 5.28mn mt.
Exports of blooms and billets rose by 63pc or 4.09mn mt in the period and that of slabs, increased by 18pc to 1.72mn mt, over the prior 10 month period.
Iran’s finished steel exports rose by 25pc to 2.98mn mt, of which long steel constituted 2.27mn mt, the largest share.
Exports of long steel went up by 76.1pc between Mar 21, 2018 and Jan 20, 2019.
