Iran’s aluminum ingot production in the Iranian year 1399 (March 21, 2020-March 20, 2021) stood at 446,842mt, up by 61pc as compared to 278,318mt produced in the preceding year (1398), according to data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro).

Of the total aluminum output in 1399, Iranian Aluminum Company (IRALCO) produced 185,000mt, contributing the highest volume to the total volume share, while Al-Mahdi-Hormozal Aluminum Complex’s aluminum ingot output stood at 163,000mt.

In the Iranian year 1399, South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) produced 72,100mt of aluminum ingots, while Iran Alumina Company’s output stood at 25,400mt in the same period.

In the last month of the year (Feb 19-Mar 20, 2021), the country’s aluminum production grew by 38pc to 41,000mt as compared to 30,000mt produced in the same month in the previous year.

The country is planning to increase its annual aluminum production by 63pc by the end of the current Iranian year 1400 (March 20, 2022).

Iran aims to produce 1.5mn mt of aluminum ingot by the Iranian calendar year 1404 (Mar 2025-Mar 2026), as per media reports.
