China’s Jiangxi Copper produced 12.6pc more refined copper cathode in H1 2021 from the same year-ago period, while copper concentrate output was down 1.5pc during the same timeframe.

 

The company expects increased demand from upstream industries, especially the solar power and energy segments, which is likely to reduce inventory levels in the second half of the year.

 

Refined copper cathode production volumes stood at 901,300mt and refined copper was 100,300mt for the first six months of 2021. Jiangxi Copper aims to produce 1.73mn mt of cathodes this year.

 

The company’s net income was CNY3.04bn ($469.5mn) and net revenue stood at CNY22.2bn during H1 2021.
