China-based Linyi Iron and Steel Investment Group’s proposed phase I of stainless steel slab construction project in Shandong Province is likely to commence in February. The annual output from the project could be 700,000mt, with production of 300 series, 400 series and duplex stainless steel.
The project entails installation of 90mt electric furnace, supporting a 30mt alloy melting furnace for nickel-chromium alloy, 290mt AOD refining furnaces, 190mt LF refining furnace, 190mt VOD refining furnace, a single-flow slab continuous casting machine and related auxiliary facilities. The construction of the plant will continue till February 2022.
In the first phase of the project, the Chinese government authorities have invited public opinions till Jan 16 as a part of their impact assessment.
