India’s National Aluminium Company (Nalco) has order two Bayer process flash evaporation plants worth €13mn ($15.5mn) for its Damanjodi alumina refinery in Odisha.
Finnish equipment manufacturer Metso Outotec will be providing and installing the new plants. The equipment will help Nalco meet its production targets, a statement from Metso said. Last year, Nalco ordered two alumina calciners and a hydrate filtration plant from Metso, which helped the former increase its alumina production to 1mn mt per annum.
This new order from Nalco will help Metso Outotec strengthen its position in the bauxite and alumina market, it said in a statement.
