Nevada Copper has completed the construction of its underground ore handling system at Pumpkin Hollow’s main shaft, which will improve transportation from the mine to the processing plant.
In late November, the company raised $15mn to ramp up production rates by five times. With this development, the company says that it can now significantly increase ore hoisting and move closer toward its 5,000mt per day processing target, as compared to the current 1,000mt per day.
Mike Ciricillo, chief executive officer at Nevada Copper, said that this milestone brings the company closer to full-scale production. The mine is capable of producing almost 29,500mt of copper concentrate in a year.
