Nissan Motor has shut production at two of its factories in northeastern Japan, the company said on Thursday.

Plants at Oppama and Shonan will be shut for the next two days, according to local media reports. The Oppama Plant has a production capacity of 240,000 units a year. Shonan Plant is engaged in vehicle manufacturing with a focus on light commercial vehicles (LCV).

The company will halt production on delay in sourcing supply parts due to the 7.3magnitude earthquake on February 14, which has impacted logistics.

Another automaker Toyota has also shut production at 14 lines which accounts for half of Toyota’s production lines in Japan. Widespread power outages are also likely affecting production in northeastern Japan.

Nissan is yet to disclose the losses due to auto parts and vehicle damages.
