Russia’s VIZ-Stal, a subsidiary of NLMK, has ordered a decarburization and coating line (DCL) from Tenova for its plant in Ekaterinburg, Russia. The DCL line is scheduled for commissioning by the end of 2021.
The line provides an important stage of grain-oriented electrical strip production which will be processed in Russia and eventually exported for final use in a new mill in Maharashtra, India. The mill is anticipated to launch production in the first half of 2022.
The contract with Tenova includes the engineering, mechanical, furnace system, electrical, and control systems.
The company is unable to share the capacity of the new DCL line according to an NMLK spokesperson that Davis Index reached out to on Jul 7.
