Norway-based integrated aluminium company Hydro concluded sale of its 65pc stake in Vietnamese company Sapa Ben Thanh Aluminium. The decision to sell this stake is a part of Hydro’s overall review of its extruded solutions, aiming to optimise and streamline the portfolio, according to the company’s statement. 

 

Sapa Ben Thanh Aluminium’s plant in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam produced 3,500mt extruded products, annually. The company was a joint venture between Norwegian Sapa group and Vietnamese Ben Thah Group, in which Sapa held 65pc stake. In 2017, Hydro acquired Sapa group. 

 

Sapa Ben Thanh Aluminium is engaged in the production and supplies high-quality aluminium products used in construction, industrial, electronics, transport, marine and other sectors.
