South Korean steelmaker Posco has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Array Technologies to supply corrosion-resistant steel products, stated local media reports. Posco will supply 200,000mt corrosion-resistant steel to Array Technologies between 2022 and 2023.
The supply is equivalent to installing solar power generation facilities in an area covering 12,000 soccer stadiums. The two companies will also develop technology around designing photovoltaic structures and accessories. They will also work on product standardization for the adoption of Posco’s specifications by other global solar companies.
Posco’s marketing head for steel products, Kim Sang-Gyun mentioned that Posco expects to secure a leading position in the solar power industry and strengthening the abilities of small industries in the solar sector.
