Lead and zinc production of Melbourne-based Red River Resources fell, while the output of copper rose in the Oct-Dec 2019 period, according to the company’s quarterly results announced on Thursday.
Copper concentrate production rose to 1,506mt in the period from 1,372mt Jul-Sep 2019. Zinc concentrate output at Thalanga mines in Queensland fell to 3,781mt in Oct-Dec 2019, from 6,1999mt in Jul-Sep 2019. Output of lead concentrate in the quarter ending Dec fell to 876mt from 2,016mt in the prior quarter. Production was negatively impacted by delays as the company ramped up its mining operations in the Far West.
The company announced that mining activities at West 45 continued to reduce, and is expected to cease in Jan-Mar 2020, when mines will be closed for maintenance.
