Russian Railways’ loaded cargos declined by 4.9pc to 102mn t in January compared to the same month in 2019. There were 20.2pc fewer cargoes compared to December 2019. However, its ferrous metalscrap cargoes increased by 12.6pc to 663,000mt last month compared to January 2019.

 

Last month, cargoes containing ferrous metals decreased by 2.2pc to 6.4mn compared to January 2019. Non-ferrous ore and raw sulphur fell by 2.1pc in January to 1.5pc, while coke cargoes declined by 11.1pc from January 2019 to 876,000t last month. Chemicals and mineral fertilizer cargoes decreased by 2.3pc to 5.2mn t. 

 

Construction cargo on Russian Railways rose marginally by 0.9pc to 8.4mn t in January 2020, while it increased by 2pc for ferrous and manganese ore to 10.1mn t. Cement cargoes rose by 8.4pc to 1.2mn t.
