Russia’s stainless steel imports decreased 10pc at 116,022mt in January-April 2021 compared to 129,181mt in the same prior-year period, according to Russian Customs data.
The country’s imports for stainless steel dropped 7pc in April 2021 at 31,699mt, compared to 34,184mt during the same month a year ago. Monthly comparisons were nearly flat this April from 31,721mt in March 2021.
Russia’s primary exporter of stainless steel in April 2021 was China with 12pc more shipments at 14,300mt compared with 12,781mt last year. India was second with 115pc more exports at 7,041mt in April year, compared to 3,274mt in the previous year. Imports from Indonesia declined 69pc at 1,429mt this April from 4,551mt in April 2020.
