Canadian miner Sherritt International Corporation finished nickel production on a 100pc basis at its Moa Joint Venture in 2020 stood at 31,506mt, according to the company’s quarterly report. The production was largely in line with its 2020 nickel output guidance of 32,000mt-33,000mt.
In the fourth quarter of the year (Q4 FY20), the company produced 8,040mt of finished nickel.
The company said that production in 2020 was negatively impacted by railway service disruptions in Q1 and an extended plant shutdown in Q3 and reduced contractor availability due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and unplanned repairs to autoclaves in Q4.
The company’s finished nickel production guidance for 2021 is expected to be between 32,000mt and 34,000mt on a 100pc basis.
