Sif will deliver 33 monopiles and 33 transition pieces totaling 25kt (25,000mt) for an offshore wind project in Japan.

The European large steel tubulars maker announced a pre-order has been placed by an unnamed Japanese company, with instructions to proceed soon to follow.

Sif provided an update on its order book consisting of around 175kt of steel, 25kt of which is subject to exclusive negotiations, with the remainder part of the firm’s existing projects.

The steel tubular components manufactured by the Euronext Amsterdam-listed company are used as foundational components in the offshore wind and offshore oil and gas markets, predominantly located in the North Sea region.

Sif primarily produces monopiles, transition pieces and piles that are used to anchor jacket foundations in the seabed for offshore wind turbines. It also produces legs, pile sleeves, and piles of larger jackets for oil and gas and tubular structures for jetties.
