US low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines has placed a new order for 34 Boeing 737 Max aircraft, to be delivered in 2022.

According to media reports, the Airline is betting on leisure travel growth due to large-scale vaccination rollouts until the end of this year in the US. The firm is also expecting improved revenue through June, in a similar notion.

However, the company has noted that weak business travel continues to impact its domestic fares through the second quarter of 2021. In March, the company placed an order for 100 737 Max aircraft and plans to buy up to 600 units over the next 10 years and replace its entire fleet.
