Sunflag Iron and Steel’s new automated SBQ bar mill in Bhandara, Maharashtra is likely to have an annual capacity of 320,000mt. Danieli India will supply the drives and process automation for this new SBQ bar mill.
The new bar rolling mill will replace the existing blooming mill to produce steel bars in diameters of 45-120 mm. The automation supply includes instrumentation, AC main drives, regenerative DC common bus technology, auxiliary drives, mainstand and shear LV motors, and motor control centres for the bar mill.
The company’s plant at present has 500,000mt annual capacity and produces high-quality special steel using liquid pig iron and sponge iron as basic inputs. Sunflag’s products are used for manufacture of automotive transmission gears, drive shafts, steering systems, bearings, exhaust system among others.
