Tata Steel plans to complete the construction of its cold rolling mill complex and pellet plant in Kalinganagar in the state of Odisha in a year, according to the company’s annual report.
After this expansion at the Kalinganagar unit in second phase, its production capacity will reach 8mn mt. The company has also restarted work on upstream expansion for the unit.
The company is also working to amalgamate Tata Steel BSL into Tata Steel after receiving approval from shareholders. The amalgamation scheme now awaits necessary statutory approvals.
In FY 2020-21, Tata Steel India’s crude steel output dipped by 7pc.
