Trigon Metals increased its mineral resource estimate fivefold at the Kombat copper project in Namibia.

According to its latest mineralization study for the project, released Monday, the Canadian miner enlarged its mineral estimates at the mine to 39mn mt from 7mn mt in 2018.

The latest assessment at Kombat’s open-pit mine approximates indicated mineral resources of 7.35mn mt, comprising 0.91pc copper, 0.88pc lead, and 0.58g/t of silver. Under its previous assessment, the miner’s indicated mineral resource estimate was 1.529mn mt containing 1.14pc copper, 0.72pc lead, and 2.88g/t of silver.

Total inferred mineral resources currently stand at 11.4mn mt that comprise 1.07pc copper, 1.46pc lead, and 0.46g/t silver. In 2018, inferred resources were pegged at 1.582mn mt with a grading of 1.4pc copper, 1.79pc lead, and 2.17 g/t silver.

For Kombat’s underground mine, Trigon’s revised its total inferred mineral resource estimate of 20.36mn mt with a grading of 2.84pc copper, 1.26pc lead, and 6.64g/t silver. Two years ago, these estimates were approximately 3.93mnt mt, comprising 3.72pc copper, 1.03pc lead, and 31.29g/t silver.
