Davis Index – Daily metal prices, scrap prices & global metal market

The weekly Davis Index for Turkish DKP scrap (equivalent to bonus grade) decreased by Try55/mt ($9/mt) to Try1,715/mt delivered on Monday as prices for domestic material declined in tandem with imported scrap prices. The Index for extra grade scrap (equivalent to HMS 1&2 (85:15)) decreased by Try38/mt ($6/mt) to Try1,625/mt delivered. 

 

Last week, Colakoglu Metalurji reduced purchase prices thrice by a total of Try85/mt to Try1,715/mt delivered for DKP grade and by a total of Try70/mt to Try1,600/mt delivered for extra grade.

 

Diler Demir followed suit and cut purchase prices by a total of Try50/mt to Try1,680/mt delivered for DKP grade and by Try40/mt to Try1,580/mt delivered for extra grade.

 

Turkish integrated steel mills, on the other hand, revised purchase prices down only once late last week by Try50/mt, due to which, Erdemir’s DKP grade purchases are priced at Try1,760/mt delivered for DKP grade and Try1,755/mt delivered for extra grade. 

 

Isdemir is paying Try1,600/mt delivered for DKP grade and Try1,595/mt delivered for extra grade, while Kardemir pays Try1,855/mt delivered for DKP grade and Try1,665/mt delivered for extra grade.

 

The purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in Izmir dropped by $15/mt to $261/mt delivered on Monday.
