The weekly Davis Indexes for DKP scrap (equivalent to bonus grade) and for extra grade scrap (equivalent to HMS 1&2 [85:15]) in Turkey both climbed by TRY13/mt ($2/mt) on Monday to TRY1,822/mt delivered and TRY1,718/mt delivered, respectively.
Most Turkish mills did not revise purchase prices for domestic scrap after prices for imported material trended almost flat.
Diler Demir Celik was the only producer to raise its purchase prices by TRY50/mt to TRY1,760/mt delivered for DKP grade and TRY1,650/mt delivered for extra grade on Monday.
Colakoglu Metalurji continued buying DKP grade at TRY1,850/mt delivered and extra grade at TRY1,725/mt delivered, while Kardemir kept purchasing DKP grade at TRY1,925/mt delivered and extra grade at TRY1,765/mt delivered.
Erdemir is still paying TRY1,870/mt delivered for DKP grade and TRY1,865/mt delivered for extra grade and Isdemir’s purchase prices remain at TRY1,700/mt delivered for DKP grade and at TRY1,695/mt delivered for extra grade.
In Izmir, purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap were unchanged at $240/mt delivered.
