The weekly Davis Index for DKP scrap (equivalent to auto bundles) in Turkey inched up by TRY4/mt to TRY4,045/mt ($481.50/mt) delivered on Monday after only one mill raised its purchase price.
Most Turkish steelmakers kept their purchase prices unchanged from last week, while Kardemir announced a new purchase price for DKP grade at TRY4,530/mt delivered on May 18, increasing it by TRY200/mt.
Colakoglu Metalurji, Diler Demir Celik, and Kroman continue buying DKP grade at TRY4,225/mt delivered, TRY3,970/mt delivered, and TRY4,010/mt delivered, respectively. Erdemir and Isdemir have been paying TRY4,285/mt delivered and TRY4,230/mt delivered, respectively, for the grade since May 17.
Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in the Izmir region rose by $20/mt to $480/mt delivered over the week amid solid demand.
