Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The weekly Davis Index for DKP scrap (equivalent to auto bundles) in Turkey decreased by TRY206/mt ($29/mt) to TRY3,086/mt ($430/mt) delivered on Monday as mills continued cutting their purchase prices amid a downtrend in rebar pricing.

 

Over the week, Colakoglu Metalurji, Erdemir, and Isdemir reduced their purchase prices for the DKP grade by TRY225/mt to TRY3,200/mt delivered, TRY3,250/mt delivered and TRY3,040/mt delivered, respectively. The most recent price revision was done on Feb 1.

 

Diler Demir Celik dropped its purchase price for the same grade by TRY180/mt to TRY3,040/mt delivered, Kroman reduced it by TRY230/mt to TRY3,075/mt delivered, and Kardemir dropped its price for the grade by TRY200/mt to TRY3,325/mt delivered during the week.

 

Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in the Izmir region decreased by $30/mt to $400/mt delivered as bearish sentiment prevailed.
