The weekly Davis Indexes for DKP scrap (equivalent to bonus grade) and for extra grade scrap (equivalent to HMS 1&2 [85:15]) in Turkey were both flat on Monday at TRY2,240/mt ($295/mt) delivered and TRY2,122/mt ($279/mt) delivered, respectively.

 

Most Turkish mills chose to hold their purchase prices for local material at current levels last week as their production requirements remained unchanged.

 

Colakoglu Metalurji has held its DKP grade purchase prices at TRY2,260/mt delivered and extra grade at TRY2,115/mt delivered, while Diler Demir’s are unchanged at TRY2,205/mt delivered and at TRY2,105/mt delivered, respectively.

 

Erdemir is still paying TRY2,310/mt delivered for DKP grade and TRY2,305/mt delivered for extra grade, while Isdemir is purchasing DKP grade at TRY2,020/mt delivered and extra grade at TRY2,015/mt delivered.

 

Kardemir has kept its purchasing prices unchanged at TRY2,345/mt delivered for DKP grade and at TRY2,185/mt delivered for extra grade.

 

Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in Izmir are also flat at $285/mt delivered.
