Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Turkey’s weekly Davis Indexes for DKP scrap (equivalent to bonus grade) and extra grade scrap (equivalent to HMS 1&2 [85:15]) were flat on Monday at TRY1,856/mt ($271/mt) delivered and at TRY1,756/mt ($256/mt) delivered, respectively.


Most Turkish mills held their purchase prices for local ferrous scrap at the previous week’s levels as inflow volumes remained adequate for their needs resulting in a demand-supply balance.


Colakoglu Metalurji kept its DKP grade buying prices unchanged at TRY1,870/mt delivered and extra grade at TRY1,745/mt delivered, while Diler Demir held its prices at TRY1,800/mt delivered for DKP grade and at TRY1,720/mt delivered for extra grade.


Erdemir is still paying TRY1,890/mt delivered for DKP grade and TRY1,885/mt delivered for extra grade, while Isdemir is paying TRY1,735/mt delivered and TRY1,730/mt delivered, respectively, for the two grades.


Kardemir is purchasing DKP grade at TRY2,015/mt delivered and extra grade at TRY1,855/mt delivered, both unchanged from last week.


Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in Izmir were also unchanged at $242/mt delivered.
