The weekly Davis Index for Turkish DKP scrap (equivalent to bonus grade) dropped by TRY39/mt ($5.50/mt) to TRY1,810/mt delivered on Monday and declined by TRY34/mt ($5/mt) to TRY1,715/mt delivered for extra grade scrap (equivalent to HMS 1&2 [85:15]).
Most mills did not revise purchase prices, while a few mills decided to reduce them because of which, price dynamics were mixed in the Turkish ferrous scrap market.
On May 8, Diler Demir Celik decreased its purchase prices by TRY90/mt to TRY1,740/mt delivered for DKP grade and to TRY1,630/mt delivered for extra grade. On the same day, Kardemir cut its purchase prices by TRY80/mt to TRY1,975/mt delivered for DKP grade and to TRY1,815/mt delivered for extra grade.
Colakoglu Metalurji kept its purchasing price unchanged at TRY1,850/mt delivered for DKP grade and at TRY1,725/mt delivered for extra grade.
Erdemir also continued paying TRY1,820/mt delivered for DKP grade and TRY1,815/mt delivered for extra grade, while Isdemir kept buying at TRY1,720/mt delivered for DKP grade and at TRY1,715/mt delivered for extra grade.
In Izmir, the weekly purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap increased by $10/mt to $235/mt delivered amid higher prices for imported material in the most recent contracts.
