The daily Davis Index for Turkish imports of US-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) was flat at $277.72/mt cfr on Wednesday.
There has been limited ferrous scrap booked, both deep- and short-sea, into Turkey this week, as neither bids nor offers were reported Wednesday.
The most recent transaction was fixed at an average price of $283/mt cfr Karadeniz for 16,000mt of HMS 1&2 (80:20), 12,500mt of shredded scrap, 2,500mt of bonus scrap, and 1,000mt of busheling from Denmark, as Davis Index reported yesterday.
There has also been limited business activity in Turkey’s rebar market, resulting in local rebar prices declining by Try40/mt ($6.50/mt) to Try3,180-3,230/mt ex-works. The export market, too, has been inactive this week, however, there was 14,000-15,000mt of Turkish rebar sold to the US last week at around $610/mt cfr TW, duty paid.
