Turkey exported 2.98mn mt of rebar during the first five months of 2021 compared with 2.23mn mt in the same period last year, according to statistical source SteelData.

 

Long product shipments from Turkey to Israel increased by 28pc at 409,000mt and decreased by 10pc at 397,000mt to Yemen, during the period under review.

 

Rebar export from Turkey to Singapore reached 386,000mt from January-May 2021 versus 184,000mt during the same period last year.

 

The next importer of Turkish rebar was Peru, where total shipments were 258,000mt during the first five months of this year compared to 19,000mt in the same timeframe a year ago.

 

Turkey exported 223,000mt of rebar to Hong Kong, up from 100,000mt from January-May 2020, noted SteelData.

 

Long product shipments from Turkey to Brazil were 167,500mt, while there was almost no supply to this country during the first five months of 2020. Rebar exports to the USA dropped by 58pc to 95,000mt.

 

Turkey also shipped 82,000mt of long product to Iraq, 78,500mt to Jamaica, and 68,000mt to Chile.

 

In May 2021, total rebar exports from Turkey amounted to 686,000mt compared to 295,000mt in the same month last year.
