The Davis Index price for A356 is 87¢/lb, unchanged from the 1¢/lb price increase from a week ago.
Alloy pricing was supported by the second round of buying of RSI from the Chinese. The US has not benefited from the increase in activity by China directly but, it has increased scrap aluminum exports to India and Asia ports. Those scrap dealers with export access have taken advantage of the increases in recent days.
Market participants expect secondary alloy price to increase after the first of the year on the back of global demand and the increased cost of raw material.
