The US Department of Commerce has levied antidumping (AD) duties on a Japanese exporter of nickel-plated flat-rolled steel products.

Commerce preliminarily determined that Japan’s Toyo Kahan made sales of the subject material at less than the normal value from May 1, 2018, through April 30, 2019, the agency said in an order published on Monday.

In its initial results of the investigation, Commerce assigned a 1.28pc weighted-average dumping margin on the Japanese supplier. The HS Codes subject to this margin are 7212.50.0000 and 7210.90.6000

Upon completion of the review and approval from the Court of International Trade, Commerce will instruct US Customs and Border Protection to assess AD duties on all relevant entries from the company.
