The US Department of Commerce preliminarily determines that countervailable subsidies are being provided to a producer of forged steel fittings in China that exports material to the US.
In an order dated Nov 13, Commerce stated that Both-Well (Taizhou) Steel Fittings received subsidy during the period of review (POR), March 14, 2018 through December 31, 2018. The agency has preliminarily assigned a countervailing duty (CVD) of 25.90pc to this exporter. It has also assigned the same rate for 35 other Chinese companies which produce the subject material.
Commerce will instruct US Customs and Border Protection to collect cash deposits of the estimated CVD with regard to shipments from Both-Well during the POR. The agency intends to publish its final results within 120 days.
