The US Department of Commerce has imposed final countervailing duties (CVD) on 12 exporters of cast iron soil pipe fittings from China.

In a notification issued on Jan 27, Commerce said that these suppliers had received countervailable subsidies for their products sold to the US between December 19, 2017, and December 31, 2018. The agency noted that after receiving comments and rebuttal briefs to its preliminary results, which were published in October 2020, it did not make any significant changes to the duties levied after its investigations.

As a result, Commerce slapped a final CVD on 109.32pc on two mandatory respondents—Wuhu Best Machines and Qinshui Shunshida Casting. It levied a 5.13pc CVD on Wor-Biz Industrial, the third mandatory respondent, and imposed the same duty on the remaining nine companies that were reviewed.
