Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Superalloy prices increased across all grades on Thursday in tandem with rising LME nickel prices this week. 

 

The weekly Davis Index for Hastelloy C rose by 15¢/lb to $6.68/lb for single truckload delivered processor yard and was up for Hastelloy X by 12¢/lb to $5.08/lb delivered. 

 

Inconel 600 grew by 2¢/lb to $6.19/lb and increased for Inconel 601 by 12¢/lb to $5.05/lb delivered processor yard. Inconel 617 Vac climbed by 3¢/lb to $4.18/lb delivered processor yard while Inconel 625 Vac jumped by 8¢/lb to $6.25/lb delivered. The index for Inconel 718 Vac increased by 10¢/lb to $4.92/lb delivered processor yard. 

 

The official LME Nickel cash contract closed Thursday at $20,075/mt, up by $710/mt from $19,365/mt on Sep 2.

 

Superalloy prices have followed the increase in the LME nickel market this week. High temp alloy prices are also being pushed up by consistent demand in the stainless steel market, despite a mixed market sentiment at present.
