China’s Yingkou Zhongwang Aluminium Company plans to ramp up electrolytic aluminium production from the end of October. The company with an annual production capacity of 890,000mt is currently operating at 460,000mt, according to local media.
Yingkou Zhongwang is a major electrolytic aluminium manufacturer in northern China. The company plans to resume operation of the remaining 430,000mt capacity with the start of 160 cells in the first phase. The facility is currently overhauling its electrolyzer amid off-peak aluminium consumption in China.
In the first half of 2021, the company produced 224,000mt electrolytic aluminium compared to 364,000mt in the prior year period, while the production in June was approximately 38,000mt.
China’s Zhongwang Group is the world’s second-largest industrial aluminium extrusion manufacturer. In 2020, the company reported a sales volume of 767,000mt.
